Learning Community

Each member of the Learning Community completes an assessment of its readiness to establish or enhance its volunteer program. They learn about specific ways in which volunteers can contribute to their mission and work. They also identify and incorporate best practices for integrating volunteers into their early childhood programs. Participants attend at least two convenings for technical assistance and training supplemented by periodic check-ins with staff and colleagues.

“We must bring in the generations, harnessing the unused talent of the elderly and the unfocused energy of the young. For not only leadership is passed from generation to generation, but so is stewardship.”

“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.”
John F. Kennedy
